Commons Select Committees
Commons Select Committees are groups of MPs that look into a particular area or issue.
I am a member of the following Commons Select Committees:

Business, Innovation and Skills, 2010 - The Business, Innovation and Skills Committee is appointed by the House of Commons to examine the administration, expenditure and policy of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and its associated public bodies, including Ofcom and the Office of Fair Trading (OFT)

Environmental Audit Committee, 2010 - The Environmental Audit Committee considers to what extent the policies and programmes of government departments and non-departmental public bodies contribute to environmental protection and sustainable development.

Committee on Arms Export Controls, 2010- The Committee on Arms Export Controls examines the Government's expenditure, administration and policy on strategic exports, that is the licensing of arms exports and other controlled goods.

Scottish Affairs, 2005 - 2010 The Scottish Affairs Committee examines the expenditure, administration and policy of the Scotland Office including relations with the Scottish Parliament.

Procedure, 2005 - 2010 The Procedure Committee considers the practice and procedure of the House in the conduct of public business.

European Scrutiny, 2006 - 2010 The European Scrutiny Committee assesses the legal and/or political importance of each EU document and decides which are debated. It also monitors the activities of UK Ministers in the Council (through parliamentary questions and sometimes by questioning Ministers in person), and sometimes conducts general inquiries into legal, procedural or institutional developments in the EU.
