Restoring faith in the banking system

canary wharfInternational money markets work in an incredibly complex way, and they often seem shady or distant from the real world.  Many bankers - not all, but many - have let us down.  Their incessant risk taking was born out of a macho, narcissistic desire to be the top dog.  And now we are all paying the price.

I support a 'Robin Hood Tax', which will help taxpayers get their money back without causing further disturbance to the markets which fuel our economy.  Find out more here.

MP's Expenses

Big BenMany MP's were brought to book for outrageous expenditure on non-essential items.  Sadly, many good MP's have had their reputations unfairly tarnished too.  The Telegraph rightly exposed a good number of politicians for their ill-gotten gains, and whilst in several cases the paper went too far - accusing some MP's of doing things that they actually didn't do - this does not excuse the fact that we have been let down by too many politicians. Find out more here

Fox huntingUndoubtedly one of the most contentious issues in politics.  I have respect for both sides of the argument - I understand a desperate desire to avoid inflicting cruelty on animals, but being of farming stock myself, I understand that the issue is not always presented in an accurate way by the animal rights lobby.
