Hilary backs the ban

In support of the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection’s (BUAV) No Cruel Cosmetics campaign Hilary recently signed one of their 'I back the ban' cards.

The European Commission is currently reviewing a ban on testing cosmetic products on animals, which is due to come into force in 2013. Cosmetic tests have not been carried out on animals in the EU since March 2009 and the 2013 ban would also prohibit the importing of products which had been tested outside the EU.

The BUAV, along with their European partners, has been running the No Cruel Cosmetics campaign for a year now to urge the Commission to stand firm.  Their online petition has attracted the support of over 140,000 people from around Europe.
