In 2007/2008 All MP’s were allocated a budget of £90,505 per annum. This budget also covers employers NI costs.
Parliament requires MPs to pay their staff in accordance with their salary guidelines. The pay ranges have been approved by the Speaker's Advisory Panel on Members' Allowances. The pay ranges are based on 37.5 hours net per week.

All pay rates are pro-rata, with some employees working part-time. All contracts are registered with Parliament and all are members of appropriate trade unions.
One relative, Joanna White, is employed as office manager and has been employed since 2003. Joanna also worked in Parliament in the early 1990s for a senior MP.
