Yesterday, the House of Commons unexpectedly backed the amendment of anti-sleaze MP, John Mann, which abolishes tax free property speculation by MPs.
Until now, MPs have been able to claim Additional Costs Allowance on the most expensive house (normally in London) while telling the tax man their cheap residence is their first home therefore exempting their pricey home from Capital Gains Tax.
John Mann MP said, "The unique tax status of MPs has ended - my colleagues unanimously backed my motion to clean up the House of Commons and British Politics.
"There will be no more property speculation at the expense of the tax payer or the House of Commons."
