John Mann, Member of Parliament for Bassetlaw has welcomed Remploy’s decision to keep their Worksop factory open.

John Mann supported Worksop Remploy’s bid to remain open and lobbied ministers, met with senior management and the local workforce.  He put North Notts College in contact with Remploy and this has resulted in the proposal for Remploy to supply Local Authorities in the Midlands region. Other work will also continue to be developed with local business customers.

John Mann was very pleased to hear this good news and he said “I was very concerned when I heard about the proposal for Worksop Remploy, they are a first class workforce and deserve a safe future.  I immediately began lobbying on their behalf and I am delighted that my suggestion that the college should get involved was taken up and that jobs have now been saved.  This is great news for all involved.”
