About North East Cambridgeshire

North East CambridgeshireNorth East Cambridgeshire is a Parliamentary Constituency which elects one Member of Parliament to the House of Commons.

Following the most recent boundary changes the seat includes the whole of the area covered by Fenland District Council plus four wards in East Cambridgeshire District (Littleport East, Littleport West, Sutton and Downham Villages)

Three wards previously contained in North East Cambridgeshire, Eye & Thorney, Newborough and East, move to the Peterborough seat at the next General Election. (see http://www.peterboroughlabourparty.com/)

Labour’s share of the vote in General elections has greatly increased since 1983, pushing the Lib Dems into third in 1997 (see graph below). Labour are now the main challengers to the Conservatives in North East Cambridgeshire.
