Opposing Heathrow Expansion

Andy Slaugher outside Downing Street

On Tuesday I led a delegation of MPs to meet Gordon Brown to express our opposition not only to R3 but also Mixed Mode - the ending of runway alternation which would bring all-day misery to those currently under the flight paths but granted a half-day respite.

The delegation is pictured above and included (left to right) Alan Keen MP for Feltham & Heston, Ann Keen MP for Brentford & Isleworth, Martin Salter MP for Reading West, John McDonell MP for Hayes & Harlington, myself and Martin Linton MP for Battersea.

HayesI spoke in opposition to the proposed expansion of Heathrow in the debate in the House of Commons this week. You can watch and read the debate here.On Wednesday I raised the issue again, this time at Prime Minister's Questions. You can see the text and the video here.
