Andy Slaughter, Labour MP for Shepherds Bush, has praised the work of the Hammersmith Bengali Association in an appearance at their tenth anniversary annual general meeting.
Since its foundation, the Hammersmith Bengali Association has provided important services and support to local Bengali residents, including and advice service, a healthy living project, a development project, and a supplementary school for developing local Bengali children’s’ skills and school results.
Andy Slaughter said, “The work that Hammersmith Bengali Association does is truly excellent. The range of work they do with their limited financial resources is a real benefit – not only to Bengali residents, but to everyone.
“They have contributed a great deal to the diversity and cohesion of the community here in Hammersmith, and for that they deserve our ongoing support in their important work”.
Andy was pleased to be able to award prizes to the children in the Association’s supplementary school project who had achieved the best results.
Andy added, “the progress of these children is astounding – the volunteers at the Bengali Association can be proud of the work they are doing to help these children get ahead”. |
