Along with local Historian, Steve Williams, Lindsay Hoyle launched an appeal to raise funds for a suitable memorial to the Chorley Pals in their home town. For nearly 90 years there after the end of the Great War no permanent memorial existed for the Chorley Pals in the town. Today on the flat iron stands the new memorial.

Donations to the fund may be made at any branch of Chorley Building Society or through one's own bank through the Royal Bank of Scotland, 56 Market Street, Chorley, for the credit of Chorley Building Society Account No: 11758805, reference 5803000243, or by cheque payable to "Chorley Pals Memorial" sent to the Constituency Office at 35-39 Market Street on the corner of Fazakerly Street.
