Mark Hobbs has sent a letter to residents in the Linden area of Moreland
Dear Resident
I'm writing to let you know about the parking issues that have been concerning so many people including myself in our area.
Ever since parking enforcement passed from the Police to the County Council, many local residents have found themselves fined for parking on 'buildouts' or in conjested streets on yellow lines that were previoulsly not ticketed.
Four years ago, the Highways Agency carried out a survey to have the pavement buildouts removed to improve parking for residents. It was also recommended to block off Churchill and Robinson Roads. Since then the Tory County Council have scrapped the proposal and nothing has been done leaving the residents of Moreland to suffer.
In my opinion, the current situation cannot be allowed to continue.
Parking within the Linden area of Moreland is at a premium, and residents need action to resolve these issues. I am writing to the Highways Authority asking for a review to be carried out of all double and single yellow lines in the Linden area. I am also asking that the buildouts be removed to allow people to park sensibly without getting a ticket.
Hopefully we can get the County Council to deliver a better deal for the residents of Moreland.
If you'd like to let me know your views on parking in our area, or if you have any other concerns that you'd like me to know about, please get in touch.
Yours faithfully
Mark Hobbs
