Re-development of former Jet and Whittle site agreed
The City Council’s Planning Committee has approved the planning application to build 40 dwellings of mixed tenure on the former Jet and Whittle pub site.
Podsmead City Councillor Mike Lawlor, who spoke in favour of the plans, says, “I am very pleased about this decision. This will allow for the redevelopment of an eyesore and meet the increasing
housing needs of families, including families in Podsmead. I hope that the development will commence as soon as possible.
“In the meantime, I am discussing funding for community activities with the developers, including a needs survey of local residents.”
The homes for rent and shared ownership will be managed by a housing association, which is yet to be named.
