MP and Councillors meet flood victims in Matson and Robinswood
Part of Matson and Robinswood was badly flooded last month. Families were evacuated and rescued through the windows of their home as the water level rose to 4ft. Residents will be
out of their homes for about 9 months. Cars have been written off because of the flooding. Parmjit Dhanda MP and Matson and Robinswood Councillors, Steve McHale, Jan Lugg and Kate Haigh visited the
road to hear residents concerns.
Parmjit and the Councillors agreed to investigate the causes of the flood and what can be done to prevent a reoccurrence. They will also be taking up the issue of maintenance of the brook and its
banks. All this will be fed into the County-wide Inquiry into the floods. Jan Lugg took on the role as point of contact for the residents and will be taking up their concerns with the City Council
Chief Executive.
