David Chaytor recently met with local Bury Primary Care Trust NHS Trainers to encourage Bury residents to lead a healthier life.
NHS Health trainers are local people who have been trained to have the skills to help you make a real difference to local people’s health.
There are three key objectives to the Health Trainers programme:
-
Eat healthily, increase activity, sleep soundly, breast feed, stop smoking, drink more sensibly and manage long term conditions.
-
Helping people know their health goals and realise ways of getting there.
-
Providing support and encouragement to lead a healthier lifestyle for all who take part in the programme.
David said:
“Leading a healthy lifestyle can lead to a greater sense of well-being and happiness for every person. I would encourage all Bury residents to take part
in this programme as it is good way of keeping fit and healthy, ultimately living longer.
“Labour has put a large amount of money into the NHS and it is only through investment in the Health Service that we will see useful services like Health Trainers being
provided.”
