I am the chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Football Club.  The All Party Parliamentary Football Club is made up of members of both the House of Commons and House of Lords.  Presently, there are approximately 50 members, who are from each of the three main political parties.

Our primary role is to play football matches as well as to raise money for charity and develop and improve contacts at home and overseas through the football fixtures in which the Club participates.  In response to our work, The Premier League and Nationwide Football Clubs have been very generous in providing us with facilities for our football matches.

As a parliamentary football club, The Club will often participate in matches versus visiting Parliamentary teams.  Also, recently we hosted the National Team of Iraq as part of their goodwill tour of Europe.

As a proper Club we also participate in matches and tours overseas.  For example, we took part in a match versus the Japanese Diet in 2002.  Additionally, the Portuguese Parliament invited us to participate in a fixture during the opening weekend of the UEFA European Championships in 2004.  Other Club matches have occurred in such countries as the Czech Republic, Germany, and Hungary.

Clive is also involved in the Independent Football Commission.  For more information, visit thier website at:- www.theifc.co.uk
