The council has been given powers from the government to make use of long term empty properties to house residents in need of homes. I have therefore started a campaign to locate empty properties and to inform the council on their whereabouts.  Millions of pounds of Government grants have been pumped into Brent over the last few years and yet not enough council homes are being built and housing remains in short supply.  I therefore hope that by identifying and informing the council of empty properties will spur them into action.  I would be grateful if you would let me know if you have seen an empty property in your area too.
