When elected in 2005 I pledged to spend as much time as possible in Brent to enable me to perform my parliamentary duties to the best of my ability. The additional cost allowance allowed me to have a base in the constituency, some 20 miles away from my main home in Stratford. My living arrangements were in transition, and I now consider Wembley home, that is why I stopped claiming the additional cost allowance last year. I am proud to call Wembley home and I am proud to be living in Brent with my constituents.
