Butler secures first step to success for Mitchelbrook residents
Dawn Butler MP Local Councillors and residents were successful in overturning a new parking scheme in the first stage of her campaign to help Mitchelbrook residents in Stonebridge. Paddington Churches Housing Association made a u-turn on their decision to charge residents £25 for a parking permit. Residents recently received a letter form PCHA informing them that they would have two weeks to pay the £25 and trade their old permits in for new ones. They were also informed that there would be an increase on the price of visitor permits. After an outcry from residents, local councillors and from Dawn Butler MP, PCHA agreed to suspend their plans until a full consultation was held involving residents. Dawn Butler MP said: “PCHA’s approach has been entirely underhand and unacceptable. Residents do not want a new charge and demand to be consulted on any new parking initiatives. It is not enough that the plans have been suspended. I will work hard to ensure that they are stopped.”
