| North West London Hospitals NHS Trust Finances Given a Big Boost…£24,064,000 to be exact! After extensive efforts of meetings and lobbying Government Ministers, Local Labour Brent MP Dawn Butler
has successfully secured £24,064,000 for North West London Hospitals NHS Trust Finances. Dawn Butler, local MP for Brent South held talks with Government ministers to minimise the impact of the expected -£25,619,000 deficit that the Trust
faced. Having been in talks with the Department of Health to try and find a manageable way for payments to be made. Today, confirmation of a change in the NHS
finance regime sees the local Trust receive £24,064,000, reducing the deficit from -£25,619,000 to -£1,555,000. Dawn said: This is great news for everybody in Brent to know that this change in the finance regime means that we are getting our deficit slashed to more a manageable
amount. Through working hard with my constituents, we have made sure that Brent is one of the gaining Trusts. I’m glad that we can make such a positive
difference and I’ll be letting all those who joined the Hospital campaign know of this great news!’ The new financial system ensures fairness, openness and responsibility. Ending the ‘deficit double whammy’ where Hospital Trusts that overspend in one year not only have to
break even over 3 – 5 years, but have to do so after the same amount is knocked off their income. This new move is on top of the other recent success of the extra monies of around £700,000 that has been promised to be given to the
Primary Care Trust a year earlier than expected that Dawn Butler MP secured recently.
