Mark Todd

I became Member of Parliament for South Derbyshire on May 1, 1997 and stood down when Parliament was dissolved on April 12, 2010. In that time I was contacted by more than 15,000 households (around one in four of those in the area). This website provides information on my work, both in and on behalf of the constituency.

January 21 - Post Office closures debate
Mark has quizzed Patrick McFadden, the Minister of State for the Department of Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform in Parliament about Post Office closures. Three post offices in South Derbyshire have been earmarked for closure. No changes were made following the recent consultation despite many objections.
Mark asked the minister why Church Gresley post office was to be closed when it was profitable
and the alternatives inconvenient. For more details click here: http://www.theyworkforyou.com/debates/?id=2008-01-17a.1066.1&s=speaker%3A10598#g1068.1
