Thank you for visiting my website. Since becoming MP for Norwich South in 1997, I have done my best to address the concerns of all my constituents. I hope that people living in Norwich, and others who are interested in my work, find this website to be a valuable resource.

The days when Norwich was the ‘end of the branch line' are long gone, and good riddance to them. We know that, with development of the airport and the Yarmouth Eastport, Norfolk is increasingly able to be the ‘Gateway to Northern Europe '.

Let's look outwards and learn so that Norfolk doesn't only ‘do different' but ‘does better'.

Our pledges for Norwich

  • We will keep a strong local economy, support the creation of local jobs by promoting Norwich and Norfolk as a centre for environmentally sustainable businesses, and make Norwich ‘a science city' – so your family will be better off.
  •  We will increase childcare with extended schools, open 8am to 6pm – so your children will achieve more.
  • We will press for a dental school in Norwich and more beds at the Norfolk and Norwich hospital – so your family will be treated better and faster. 
  • We will campaign for better bus services in Norwich , integrated with other means of transport – so you will have better connections. 
  • We will develop and improve sports facilities and encourage more people to take part in sport.
