Eileen is Anne's Hero

Eileen is Anne's Herp

Anne Snelgrove MP nominated local netball coach Eileen Witts as a local hero, because of her volunteering work.

Now Eileen will join Anne at a special reception at the House of Commons in June, to celebrate the achievements of older volunteers from around Britain.

Eileen started Lawn Netball Club in 1958, and 50 years later it is still running as Wiltshire’s most successful netball club. There are in excess of 100 members and Eileen is very much at the heart of the club organisation.

Anne said:

“I cannot think of a better person to receive this honour than Eileen, she is one of Swindon’s all time heros and is certainly my hero. I applaud those people in Swindon who run sports clubs and community organisations day in and day out for the benefit of the community. ”

The House of Commons MP Heroes Tea Party is on the 24th June, where Eileen will receive her certificate.

Promoted by Ray Collins, General Secretary, the Labour Party, on behalf of the Labour Party, both at 39 Victoria Street, London, SW1H 0HA.
Hosted by Tangent Labs, 32-42 East Road, London, N1 6AD, England, UK
